My purpose is to create value — to make leaders more valuable to their organizations, to make their businesses more valuable to the owners and the market. Communications affects value: how well your strategy is understood, how you are perceived as a leader, how well your brand is recognized and respected in the marketplace, how well you manage the reputation of your business — they all help create (or diminish) value. They are defining moments.
I work with my clients to sort out and cut through complex issues and develop clear, compelling and effective communications — and then help them develop the skills and approaches to getting those message across.
Most of my work is helping clients and organizations with:
- Annual meetings — the theme, content, visuals and executive presentation
- Key business or investor presentations where you need to get across a lot of information but also a lot of meaning and direction
- Speeches and presentations where it is important to be clear, memorable and, yes, entertaining
- Managing difficult public issues, such as a crisis, utility rate cases, and public hearings and meetings
- Media interviews and regulatory/legal testimony where you need to keep your wits and your confidence.
What all these defining moments have in common is the need to have messages that capture the imagination, respect and memory of your audience, and the ability to engage effortlessly in the debates and dialogue that are part of being a leader.
